Does anyone know if pewter likenesses of the Antioch Chalice were sold at the 1933 Chicago Worlds Fair ? An old sand cast chalice exactly like the Antioch chalice but somewhat smaller has been handed down to me. It is made of pewter, sand cast in a three part mold. Helen Eveans, Curator of the Cloisters at the Metropolitan Museum in New York, told me that five chalices like mine are in existence. She has been trying to find the origin of these chalices for nearly twenty years to no avail. I have nearly given up on finding a knowledgeable religious artifact authority who may be able to authenticate or discover the origin of these chalices. I have professional photos of my chalice.

Good Morning Char,
Thank you for your wise words. Penmanship does reflect the person, even in this age of technology. No matter how many electronic applications are required, in the end, you will have to sign your name somewhere. Showing a good hand (great turn of phrase, btw) reflects on your attention to the smallest detail in representing your individuality. I have included you in my list of sendees for the National Month of Writing.

Cheers,
MJ

Hi Marcia, Thank you for the comment. Handwriting has more than one story to tell, doesn't it? Congratulations on receiving the Penmanship award during your time at the Convent School. My handwriting has suffered through the years, usually because I am in a hurry, but it comes back, and the memories of why I style a letter a certain way gives the flow a personal connection I savor, just for myself. It amazes me how this simple expression of art is no longer valued, but I hope that raising the subject will give a few more individuals with stories such as yours inspiration to pick up the pen.
Kind regards,
Mary Jo
